Abstract
The Purpose of this study is to examine religious moderation in Islamic education among students at the University of Technology Mataram. This paper aims to understand the extent to which students comprehend religious moderation through Islamic education within the UTM environment. This will be explored through an analysis of textual and contextual understanding and perspectives. The existing issues are addressed through qualitative research using a library research approach. The findings indicate, firstly, that the campus, as a higher education institution emphasizing the role of Islamic Education lecturers in transferring knowledge to their students, is shifting towards a learning paradigm that empowers students to develop their intellectual and creative potential. This aims to fulfill their spiritual strength, noble character, good personality and manners, mutual appreciation for aesthetics, and physical and spiritual well-being. Secondly, some students remain unclear about interpreting scriptures and hadiths related to religious moderation due to the influence of their educational background and environment. This research employed observation, documentation, and interviews for data collection. The study utilized a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data was gathered through two sources: primary data through interviews and secondary data from journals, books, and archives relevant to the research objectives.
