Abstract

In research on the development of powerpoint-based learning media, it is aimed right at this time of a pandemic because it is done by means of virtual learning in this online system, the teacher uses an internet to connect in the learning process and the teacher distributes learning materials on this online system in the form of a powerpoint containing an explanation of the material. clear and complete and the teacher must also be able to design powerpoint so that the learning material can look attractive and easy to reach by students in the development of learning media using powerpoint-based carried out by researchers because during this pandemic period they developed powerpoint-based learning media because in face-to-face learning Face to face with distance learning is certainly very different. As for the method of developing powerpoint media using the ADDIE development model which consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate. For this reason, it can be used to improve students' abilities, improve children's cognitive abilities to acquire and build their knowledge through finding knowledge in their learning during the pandemic. In teaching the teacher must be able to guide students by providing situations, conditions, and appropriate learning strategies so that the potential of students can develop as much as possible. The learning process in schools has changed. This is caused by a virus that attacks the world, namely Covid-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019). Covid-19 is a disease caused by a virus and attacks the respiratory system. In order to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19, schools were forced to close. Even though schools are closed, the learning process must continue. Therefore, this study aims to develop and utilize technology in the use of powerpoint media that is feasible, effective, and also efficient. In the social studies learning process with materials related to the learning design provided in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects which contain explanation material on various concept maps regarding the island of Sumatra, the geographical conditions of the island of Sumatra, traditions and culture on the island of Sumatra, traditional houses of the island Sumatra and the traditional dances of the island of Sumatra. Therefore, the development of power point-based learning media with social studies material, a teacher must be able to develop learning media during learning during this pandemic, for that teachers develop powerpoint media to improve cognitive development and social skills of elementary school age children. Thus, the results of this study can be used and developed in the learning process, especially for elementary school students who are used as a result of this research.
