Pelatihan Speaking Bahasa Inggris melalui Zoom Meeting Kepada Staf BPJS Kesehatan Cabang Mataram

Abstract

This social service (PkM) is designed to training the officer of BPJS Health Branch of Mataram in speaking English. The English class consisted of four meetings focusing on improving speaking skill in class. The meetings were conducted online through Zoom Meeting, due to the Covid-19 pandemic compelling both facilitators and the participants to work from home. The participants, 25 officer of BPJS Health Branch of Mataram, were lack of confident in the beginning but turns out they were very active and they responded to the material taught by the instructor well. The result shows that their speaking performance in English is pretty good. Significant improvement can be seen in speaking skills, such as fluency and vocabulary. Improvements in speaking fluency can be seen in the role-play and practice of dialogue on related topics. Meanwhile, in pronunciation and grammar, there was a quite significant improvement even though it was not prominent. The performance of their English speaking overall is better. This also affects their achievement in mastering English.
