SEJARAH SERTA DINAMIKA PEMBAHARUAN LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DI INDONESIA (SURAU, PESANTREN DAN MADRASAH)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to raise issues regarding the history and dynamics of renewal of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia: Surau, Pesantren, and Madrasah. This research uses library research methods, which are intended to guide the collection of various information and data supported by various sources covering the topics to be discussed. The results of the research can be concluded that surau for the Minangkabau people has many functions, not only as a gathering place, meeting place, place to sleep but also as a means of Islamic education. Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that grow and develop on the island of Java and to this day continue to exist and are in the process of renewal. And madrasas have been transformed into a modern Islamic education system since the New Order era. This transformation of the education system occurs in various dynamics. Juridically, madrasa transformation positions madrasas at the same level as public schools, especially in the curriculum aspect, but still maintains the characteristics of an Islamic school.
