This study aims to determine English learning using cooperative teaching and learning methods to improve reading skills on narrative texts in class VIII.H SMP Negeri 14 Mataram. As for the research subjects in this study were 24 students of class VIII.H SMP Negeri 14 Mataram. The final result of this research is that after going through the method of observation, seeing the results of grades and interviews in cycle I, students' reading skills on narrative texts using the Cooperative Teaching and Learning Method can be improved. Whereas in the second cycle which consists of planning, observing, and reflecting on activities. In cycle II, the implementation of learning with the Cooperative Teaching and Learning Method is also the same as that applied in cycle I, and the results of the research method that has been implemented show an increase in students' reading skills on narrative text in VIII.H students of SMP Negeri 14 Mataram. The final conclusion of this study is that the Cooperative Teaching and Learning Method has a positive impact on the learning process of English subjects, especially in the reading aspect of narrative text.
