Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Google Classroom untuk Penguatan Kompetensi Pembelajaran Digital Mahasiswa Tarbiyah IAIN Takengon

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education requires students to possess digital learning competencies, including the ability to use e-learning platforms in meaningful ways. This community service activity aimed to describe the implementation of training on the use of Google Classroom to strengthen the digital learning competencies of students at the Faculty of Tarbiyah, IAIN Takengon. The method employed was Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) through the stages of needs analysis, planning, training implementation, and evaluation, involving 20 students as participants. Evaluation was conducted using a usefulness questionnaire, pre- and post-training understanding questionnaires, as well as practical assignments on managing virtual classes and learning tasks in Google Classroom. The results showed that the training was perceived as beneficial by the participants, accompanied by increased understanding and ability to apply Google Classroom, particularly in managing virtual classes, creating assignments, and utilizing discussion and collaboration features. These findings indicate that applicative training accompanied by mentoring is effective in enhancing students’ understanding and skills in using Google Classroom for digital learning, while simultaneously strengthening their digital learning competencies in the era of higher education transformation.
