Abstract

Islamic Religious Education teachers play a very important role in developing students' character by teaching religious values and applying them in daily life. Through consistent guidance and example, teachers guide students to live in harmony, respect each other, and prevent bullying by creating a school environment full of empathy and mutual respect. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in preventing bullying. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study type of research. The research subject is the Islamic Religious Education teacher at UNP Laboratory Development Elementary School. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The informants of this study were the principal, Islamic religious education teacher and grade VI students. The results of this study indicate that (1) the role of Islamic religious education teachers in preventing student bullying is: instilling Islamic values, the role of teachers as role models, the role of teachers as advisors, and schools hold socialization. (2) Supporting factors and inhibiting factors faced by Islamic religious education teachers in preventing student bullying behavior. The supporting factors are the existence of school rules and cooperation from the principal and teachers in preventing bullying behavior committed by students in the school environment. The inhibiting factors are unfavorable influences from the family environment, social interaction with peers, the use of cellphones without supervision from parents. lack of parental participation. lack of parental attention and supervision. unsupportive living environment. television viewing and free use of cellphones.
