Maqam dan Ahwal dalam Tasawuf: Dinamika Perjalanan Spiritual Menuju Kedudukan Tinggi di Hadapan Tuhan

Abstract

This article discusses the concepts of maqam and ahwal in Sufism as part of a Sufi’s spiritual journey toward closeness with God. Maqam refers to spiritual stages attained through worship, self-purification, and spiritual discipline, while ahwal are temporary spiritual states granted by God. Using a library research method, this study analyzes the dynamic interaction between maqam and ahwal and their relevance in modern life. In an era full of pressure and distractions, these concepts can serve as a path to inner peace and a deeper sense of meaning. The application of maqam in self-discipline and reflection helps individuals navigate life’s challenges, while an understanding of ahwal aids in accepting various life circumstances with spiritual awareness. Thus, Sufism offers a solution to the modern existential crisis by bringing humans back to an awareness of God.
