Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of parents towards early childhood prayer in households in RW 05 Perumnas Indarung, Padang City, West Sumatra. The research method used is a qualitative approach research method with descriptive type. The data sources used are informants consisting of a sample of 4 parents through purposive sampling technique and documents in the form of photos and visual evidence. The instrument used in this research is through interview guidelines. Data collection techniques in this study through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are structured through interview transcriptions and field notes. The data validity technique in this study uses data triangulation techniques of the triangulation source type. The results showed that parents in RW 05 Perumnas Indarung teach prayer to their children through various approaches, children's response to the direction and teaching of parents in terms of prayer showed high enthusiasm and among the obstacles faced in terms of teaching prayer to their children in the form of limited time, attention span to children, lack of knowledge of parents regarding effective teaching methods and consistency in prayer habituation.
