Abstract

Reading the Quran is one of Allah's commands to all His servants. However, in reading the Qur'an, there are still incorrect pronunciations of letters and not in accordance with the applicable rules of tajweed law, so that it has an impact on the low quality of reading the Qur'an, this is due to the lack of creativity of teachers in arranging strategies, and the right methods. The purpose of this study is to find out how the teacher's strategy in reading the Quran on students at TPQ-TPSQ al-Azhar Dharmasraya. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach with the informants namely the head of TPQ, two teachers, and two students. instruments used for interviews. The data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and data conclusion. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity technique is source triangulation. The results of the research have four components carried out in learning to determine the strategies used: First, Identifying students with the aim of finding out the ability of students in the process of implementing learning. Second, Formulate learning objectives by referring to the cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude) and psychomotor (skills) aspects of students. Third, Choosing the right method The right method can help students learn more effectively and enjoyably. Fourth, learning evaluation with the aim of knowing, measuring and assessing the extent of achievement of learning objectives.
