Abstract

This study aimed to explore the local wisdom values that have developed in the environment of MTs NW Sepit and to analyze their contribution to strengthening students’ sense of nationhood and nationalism. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation conducted from March to June 2025 at MTs NW Sepit, East Lombok. The findings show that local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, religiosity, deliberation, and respect for local traditions constitute an important foundation in shaping students’ national character. The integration of these values is realized through contextual learning, culture-based extracurricular activities, and everyday school cultural practices. The impact is reflected in an increased awareness of national identity, a stronger sense of solidarity, and greater pride in local culture among students. This study underscores the importance of revitalizing local wisdom in madrasah education as a sustainable strategy for strengthening nationalism among the younger generation.
