Abstract
Students are one of the assets that must be equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes that can later be used in the life of the state, nation and society. Scientific writing and students can be said to be an inseparable unit. In carrying out your status as a student, the tasks that must be completed in order to study at a university are mostly assignments in the form of scientific papers. However, the problem for students is that the quality of the scientific articles produced by students is still not good. This can be seen in terms of substance, how to make quotations and the references used. When you want to write an article and publish it, of course the article you create must be adapted to the template in the target journal. The solution that can be offered to overcome the problem above is to provide training and assistance to students in relation to how to create quality written work. From the results of service activities, it is known that the aim of students participating in training and mentoring activities is to learn to write scientific papers 90% of the time and upgrade their knowledge 10%. Students who aim to learn to write are mostly students who have completed research and have prepared scientific articles for publication. Meanwhile, students who choose to upgrade their knowledge have not finished doing research and do not understand how to write well. The results of other interviews also showed that the students' perception of this service activity was that it was very necessary to hold it, because it could be used as a means of guiding scientific articles from the research results that had been produced.
