This research is intended to find out or analyze students' understanding in understanding FPB (Greatest Common Divisor) and KPK (Least Common Multiple) in using factor tree models and table models in grade IV elementary schools. This research uses descriptive research method with qualitative case study research and research subject of a grade IV teacher and 3 students in grade IV Elementary School. The research instrument used was observation, interviews, documentation and field notes. The data analysis technique was carried out in accordance with the scientific procedures of qualitative case study research. In this study, checking the validity of the data uses a credibility test by triangulation. The results obtained in this study are students tend to choose the factor tree method rather than using a table due to 2 factors, namely: internal factors that are influenced by student intelligence in capturing information and external factors that are influenced by the learning environment, one of them is student learning habits that use certain models for solve problems with FPB and KPK material.
