Abstract

There are many teaching media that can be utilized by teachers, and one effective media is Canva. This study aims to explore the use of Canva in enhancing student motivation in the subject of Islamic Education at SDN 36 Koto Panjang. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants for this research are the principal of SDN 36 Koto Panjang, the fifth-grade homeroom teacher, the Islamic Education teacher, and five fifth-grade students. The results of this study indicate that the use of Canva in Islamic Education at SDN 36 Koto Panjang includes material preparation, template selection, and the creation of student worksheets. The use of appealing visual elements enhances student motivation and engagement, as well as facilitates material comprehension. Utilizing Canva in Islamic Education at SDN 36 Koto Panjang increases student motivation through presentations, discussions, and quizzes. Attractive visual materials encourage active interaction, create a dynamic learning atmosphere, and improve material understanding. The Islamic Education teacher at SDN 36 Koto Panjang faces challenges in using Canva, such as a lack of understanding, limited internet access, and inadequate equipment. Support through training and infrastructure improvements is needed to optimize its use and enhance the quality of learning.
