Abstract

This study aims to determine students' critical thinking skills in Ips learning at Elementary Schools. This research uses qualitative research. In this study the researchers collected descriptive data obtained from data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that from the analysis of the critical thinking skills of grade 4 students in social studies learning at SDN Pondok Bahar 02, it was found that the average score before the action was only 62.59. The percentage of students who scored ≥75 was 42% and those who got ≤75 were 58%, meaning that less than half of the students in class IV SDN Pondok Bahar 02 were able to meet the KKM, so it can be said that the scores achieved by students in taking the test description on Social studies subjects in grade IV SDN Pondok Bahar 02 are still very low. The results of this study can provide an explanation of the level of critical thinking to students, teachers, and the school. Students 'critical thinking skills are still lacking or low because students have not been used to being trained in indicators of the ability to think critically, there is still a lack of learning that is applied in empowering students' ability to think critically.
