This study aims to describe the implementation of pop-up book media and analyze its effect on third-grade students’ motivation and science learning outcomes on the topic of animal life cycles. A Classroom Action Research design with qualitative and quantitative approaches was employed, involving 13 third-grade students at SDIT Tahfidzul Qur’an Mutiara Insan Sukoharjo. The study was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through achievement tests, learning motivation questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive-comparative techniques. The findings show that the use of pop-up book media increased student activity from 39.90% in Cycle I to 78.37% in Cycle II. Learning mastery improved from 61.54% in the pre-cycle stage to 100% in Cycle II, while students’ learning motivation reached 87.54%, which was categorized as very high. These findings indicate that pop-up book media is effective in concretizing science concepts, sustaining students’ attention, and encouraging active participation in learning. This study contributes to elementary science education by demonstrating that visually interactive media can strengthen conceptual understanding, motivation, and learning achievement, particularly in topics that require concrete representation of biological processes.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6434 Efektivitas Strategi SQ3R Berbasis Digital pada Video Berita untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Memirsa 2026-08-29T18:10:26+08:00 Feymi Fa'adillah Aiska [email protected] Prana Dwija Iswara [email protected] Sidqia Nurfadilah [email protected]
Viewing ability plays an important role in Indonesian language learning and in strengthening the digital literacy of elementary school students. However, studies on the implementation of digital-based SQ3R strategies to improve viewing ability remain limited, particularly through the use of news videos as learning media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a digital-based SQ3R strategy using news videos in improving students’ viewing ability. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method through a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 fifth-grade students of SDN Gudang I selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through viewing ability tests and documentation, and were then analyzed using comparative inferential statistical techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the digital-based SQ3R strategy was able to significantly improve students’ viewing ability. This improvement was indicated by an increase in the mean score from 53.20 in the pretest to 92.33 in the posttest. The N-Gain test obtained an average score of 0.8349, which was included in the high category, while the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the digital-based SQ3R strategy is effective in helping students understand, identify important information, and summarize the content of news videos more systematically. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of the SQ3R strategy with digital media in the form of news videos is an effective learning alternative for improving the viewing ability of elementary school students. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution to enriching studies on the SQ3R strategy in digital-based viewing instruction and a practical contribution for teachers in designing innovative, contextual, and audiovisual media-based Indonesian language learning.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6523 Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament terhadap Hasil Belajar IPAS Peserta Didik Kelas IV SD 2026-08-29T18:10:27+08:00 Regita Novita Sari [email protected] Anggit Grahito Wicaksono [email protected] Mukhlis Mustofa [email protected]
Although cooperative learning models have been widely implemented, low student engagement in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning remains an obstacle, while studies on the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model at the elementary school level in the Cengklik area remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of implementing the TGT model on the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Cengklik Surakarta. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The study population comprised 254 fourth-grade students from five A-accredited elementary schools in Nusukan Urban Village. Through cluster sampling, 54 students from SD Negeri Cengklik were selected as the sample and divided into an experimental class consisting of 28 students and a control class consisting of 26 students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, tests, and documentation using a test instrument comprising 12 multiple-choice questions whose validity and reliability had been established. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, and an independent-samples t-test for hypothesis testing. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a mean post-test score of 82.43, which was higher than the control class mean of 67.96. The hypothesis test yielded a calculated t-value of 5.019, which was higher than the critical t-value of 2.882, with a significance value of 0.000. These findings confirm that implementing the TGT model has a significant effect on improving students’ IPAS learning outcomes. The TGT model can be used as an innovative learning alternative for educators to create a more participatory and competitive learning environment.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6546 Penguatan Karakter Sosial Siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui Integrasi Nilai Kearifan Lokal Sunda dalam Pembelajaran IPAS 2026-08-29T18:10:27+08:00 Amanda Oktavia [email protected] Ani Nur Aeni [email protected] Nurdinah Hanifah [email protected]
Although the integration of Sundanese local wisdom into learning has been examined in various studies, research that comprehensively covers the planning and implementation stages and its contribution to strengthening students’ social character in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the integration of the three values of the Sundanese Trisilas philosophy, namely Silih Asah, Silih Asih, and Silih Asuh, into fifth-grade IPAS learning at SDN Hariang and their contribution to strengthening students’ social character. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 26 students and one fifth-grade teacher selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document review and were subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which comprises data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The results showed that the level of integration of the three Trisilas values into the teaching module reached 92%, whereas learning implementation was categorized as good, with a mean score of 3.26 on a four-point scale. Based on each dimension, Silih Asah obtained a mean score of 3.35, Silih Asih 3.20, and Silih Asuh 3.24. In addition, 88.5% of the students achieved the very good social character category, with a mean score of 87.5%. These findings indicate that the consistent integration of Sundanese local wisdom values from the planning stage through learning implementation contributes to strengthening elementary school students’ social character. This study enriches the literature on local culture-based character education and offers theoretical and practical guidance for teachers in designing contextual IPAS learning rooted in local wisdom.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6567 Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Value Clarification Technique (VCT) Berbasis Wayground untuk Peningkatan Karakter Demokratis Siswa Pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila Kelas VIIIF SMPN 9 Madiun 2026-08-29T18:10:27+08:00 Cindy Ayu Listari [email protected] Rosita Ambarwati [email protected]
The low level of democratic character among Grade VIII F students at SMP Negeri 9 Madiun was reflected in their limited participation in discussions, limited ability to respect others’ opinions, and lack of courage to express ideas. This study aimed to improve students’ democratic character through the implementation of the Wayground-based Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model in Pancasila Education. The study employed a Classroom Action Research design conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research participants consisted of 27 Grade VIII F students at SMP Negeri 9 Madiun. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation and then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The findings showed that the percentage of students who achieved the good category in democratic character increased from 40.74% in the pre-cycle to 66.67% in Cycle I and 88.89% in Cycle II. This improvement was demonstrated by students’ ability to respect others’ opinions, participate actively in discussions, express opinions politely, demonstrate tolerance, and act responsibly in group activities. Thus, implementing the Wayground-based VCT model can improve students’ democratic character in Pancasila Education. These findings provide practical implications for teachers in integrating a values clarification model and digital learning media to create participatory learning and support the strengthening of students’ democratic character.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6558 Pengaruh Pendekatan Deep Learning terhadap Kemampuan Membaca dan Menulis Siswa Kelas II di SD Negeri 001 Kunto Darussalam 2026-08-29T18:10:27+08:00 Miftahul Khoiri Amas [email protected] Siti Quratul Ain [email protected]
Reading and writing skills constitute an essential foundation for elementary school students in understanding various subject areas. However, preliminary observations showed that several Grade II students at SD Negeri 001 Kunto Darussalam still experienced difficulties with basic reading, reading comprehension, sentence construction, spelling, and the appropriate use of letters. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the deep learning approach on students’ reading and writing skills. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 22 Grade II-C students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation and then analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the paired-samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The findings showed that the mean reading score increased from 11.14 on the pretest to 14.18 on the posttest, whereas the mean writing score increased from 15.36 to 17.82. The paired-samples t-test revealed a significant difference between students’ reading and writing skills before and after the implementation of the deep learning approach (p < .001). Thus, the implementation of the deep learning approach contributed to improving the reading and writing skills of Grade II students. These findings provide the practical implication that the deep learning approach can be used as an alternative literacy learning approach to help students process information, understand concepts, and express ideas more meaningfully through reading and writing activities.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.stitpn.ac.id/index.php/fondatia/article/view/6573 Pengaruh Media Ular Tangga terhadap Hasil Belajar Materi Kelahiran Pancasila Kelas VII SMPN 4 Madiun 2026-08-29T18:10:27+08:00 Anggi Hari Ramadani [email protected]
Students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education were not yet optimal, necessitating instructional media capable of creating a more engaging learning environment and actively involving students. This study aimed to analyze the effect of using the snakes and ladders game as an instructional medium on the learning outcomes of Grade VII students studying the Birth of Pancasila at SMPN 4 Madiun. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and involved 62 students selected purposively. The participants comprised 31 students from Grade VII B as the experimental group and 31 students from Grade VII E as the control group. Data were collected through a pretest, posttest, and documentation and were subsequently analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests and an independent-samples t test with SPSS. The results showed that the experimental group achieved a mean posttest score of 95.67, whereas the control group obtained a mean score of 90.00. The independent-samples t test showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups (t = 2.747; p = 0.010), with a mean difference of 5.667. These findings align with the principles of constructivism and experiential learning, which emphasize students’ active engagement and direct experience in the learning process. This study concludes that using the snakes and ladders game as an instructional medium significantly affects students’ learning outcomes in the Birth of Pancasila topic. Theoretically, these findings strengthen the understanding of the use of game-based media in Pancasila Education, while practically, they may inform teachers’ design of engaging, interactive, and student-centered instruction. Future studies are recommended to involve larger samples, extend the duration of the intervention, and develop more interactive snakes and ladders media.
2026-09-01T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
